Your SooperCard and Safeway Reloadable Cards Reduce Band Expenses
King Soopers SooperCard
Use your King Soopers SooperCard to contribute to the CHS Band program (marching, color guard, concert, jazz, winter programs) at no cost to you! Just register your SooperCard or digital account ONCE to benefit the band. That’s it! Each time you scan your SooperCard or enter your alternate ID at checkout, a percentage of what you spend is donated to the Centaurus Band Boosters. If you (or your friends/family members) don’t already have a SooperCard, stop by your local King Soopers to get one.
Even friends and family members living in other states can register their SooperCards to support CHS music if they shop at a Kroger store: Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less (Southern CA, NV, IN and IL), Smith’s, Fry’s and Fry’s Marketplace, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Bakers, Cala Bell, Foods Co., Gerbes, Hilander, Owen’s, Pay Less and Jay C. Kroger.
Safeway Community Giving Reloadable Cards
The Safeway community giving card program is continuing with new reloadable grocery cards that have no upfront costs! If you don’t already have a reloadable grocery card, we’d love to get one into your hands. Cards can be loaded and reloaded in any amount of your choosing at any store register, gas attendant booth, or customer service counter. Just contact Mindy Lerch, and we’ll get your card(s) to you!
The band earns 5% of all dollars that are spent reloading the Safeway Gift Cards. After the band has accumulated $5000 spent reloading (it is checked every month), Safeway will mail a check for 5% of the $5000. The money spent reloading will accumulate and roll over each month until it hits $5000.
SAFEWAY CARD FAQs
Can I buy gasoline at Safeway stores with my reloadable card?
YES! This is a great way to use your card. Consider getting an extra card for your teenage driver to use.
Can I buy other gift cards with the reloadable card?
Sadly, you cannot buy other gift cards with the reloadable card. If you have gift cards to buy at Safeway, please ask the cashier to ring them up separately.
Can I pay for my prescriptions with my reloadable card?
YES!
Are there things I can’t buy with my reloadable card?
A few. As mentioned above, you can no longer buy other gift cards with the reloadable card. You also can’t use it to buy stamps, lottery tickets or Western Union services.
How many times can I reload my card?
There is no limit to the number of times you can reload! If you want to save time, consider reloading with a larger amount to cover more than one shopping trip or gas fill up.
Can I still use a demagnetized card?
Yes! The cashier can manually enter the number. Once you’ve used up the balance of the card, see the Band Booster Rep to get a new one.
Can I still earn points on my credit card?
Yes! Just pay for the reload with the credit card that you prefer.
Can I reload at the service desk?
Yes. However, it can take a few minutes for the service desk computer to communicate with the cash registers. It’s usually easiest to reload at the cash register. Just remember to reload before the cashier scans any of your groceries
Will my card ever expire?
If you maintain a balance on your card, it will never expire. However, if your card balance is $0 for more than 90 days your card will become inactive and you will not be able to reload it. If that happens, just start with a new one! If you maintain a balance on the card, your card will never expire.
